Dear friends and community,

It is with heavy hearts that we are sharing the unexpected, sudden, and tragic passing of our friend Nasreen Bano, a loving mother of two young boys, a devoted wife, a teacher, and a true community-loving person. This heart-breaking incident happened due to the collision that occurred on Friday, June 16th, 2023 in Kennedy and Steeles Avenue East, Brampton which has left us all deeply saddened. She will remain in our memories as a kindhearted, loving, hard-working, caring, community-active, and joyous friend.

She left a void behind that can never be filled. She is a great role model of dedication and sacrifice. Nasreen has been a driving force in the development of her family, which includes her husband, Mohammad Imran, and sons, Amaan (18) and Affan (14). Their growth and joy were the centers of her universe.

Although Nasreen was busy working hard for her children, she always made an effort to spend quality time with her family and friends, leaving an incredible mark of kindness and generosity. Many times, she drove a long way to meet her family friends’ loved ones to extend her support, comfort, and a helping hand during their difficult times. She cherised every moment of her life for others, creating lasting memories while nurturing a warm and loving home. Nasreen’s art talents brought joyous moments on many of our life's important occasions. Some of you may still have Nasreen’s legacy mehndi art on your hands and foot. She always spread joy wherever she went.

Many of our friends have reached out to me and have shown their interest in supporting her family.

In the wake of this tragic loss, we extend our support to her grieving family. The challenges that the family face without her unwavering support are undoubtedly immense. The role of a mother could never be fulfilled or compromised by anyone. However, as a community, we would like to continuously support the family's well-being. This is why we have established this GoFundMe campaign, hoping to alleviate some of their financial burdens during this difficult time.
