Hi, my name is Nixie and I am going to share a deeply personal matter that had a significant impact on my family. As you may know, my grandfather/tatay - Isagani Rosal, faced an incredibly challenging journey over the past three years, battling cancer and enduring the consequences of his treatment.
In 2019, tatay was diagnosed with Stage 3 multiple myeloma cancer, which is the most advanced stage of this cancer. In the blink of an eye, tatay went from being healthy to frail, with his kidney function plummeting to just 9%. His resilience and determination throughout the treatment process were truly inspiring, as he faced each day with unwavering strength and hope. However, the aggressive nature of the disease necessitated a rigorous treatment plan, including medications that were intended to combat the cancer. Unfortunately, the very medications designed to fight the cancer also resulted in unforeseen complications. Tatay suffered a major stroke on August 9 and passed away on August 13. He fought tirelessly until the very end, displaying unwavering courage and determination that continues to inspire us all. His legacy of resilience serves as a reminder of the strength that can be found even in the face of the most formidable challenges.
Tatay was not just a family member; he was a pillar of strength, wisdom, and unwavering support for all of us. His life was filled with countless moments of joy, love, and laughter that we will forever cherish. However, his battle with cancer and the subsequent stroke that he bravely fought against took a toll that was ultimately too great for his body to bear.
It is with a heavy heart that I am reaching out to you today about the passing of our loving Tatay. To honour Tatay's memory and ensure he receives the dignified farewell he deserves, we have established a fundraising campaign for his funeral expenses. We understand that times are tough for many, but any contribution, no matter the size, will help alleviate the financial strain on our family during this difficult time.
We will forever be grateful for your help.
Love, the Rosal and Miao Family
