Lilli, Lincoln and I were in Arizona visiting the Grand Canyon when we got in a horrific car accident on July 13, 2026. We were on a 2-lane highway when a pickup truck tried to illegally pass another truck, drove into oncoming traffic and hit us head on.

We've been in a hospital in Arizona ever since and will be here for a while.

I only broke a foot, but Lilli broke around 20 bones, had an internal injury, a collapsed lung, and a concussion. She’s had multiple surgeries, the doctors are pleased with her progress, and she's lucid and back to normal.

Tragically and beyond comprehension, our beautiful, kind, hilarious, fun, energetic, animal-loving, magical Lincoln didn't survive. He was 8 years old. We don't know how we'll go on without him. He was the single greatest part of our lives, the thing that brought us the most joy, pride and love, our favorite person in the whole world ever. He was our everything.

We so appreciate everybody's outpouring of love, support and friendship. It means the world to us and is truly the only thing propping us up right now.

People have been asking how they can help and what they can send. It's so thoughtful and generous of you, but we don't need any gifts. Your love and prayers have been so comforting.

Our niece, Taylor, has set up a GoFundMe page for our family to help us during this hard time. That would be the most helpful place to give and we will humbly accept your kindness and generosity.

We can’t begin to describe the agony and despair we're experiencing, but also can't put into words how much your love and support has been helping us.
