It is with unimaginable heartbreak that we share the sudden passing of Ben, 43, a beloved fiancé, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. After a brief but brave battle with cancer, Ben was taken from us far too soon, leaving behind his heartbroken fiancée, Carys, their beautiful 22-month-old son, and another precious baby boy due to arrive in just four weeks.
For several months, Ben had been feeling unwell and was back and forth to the GP searching for answers. Sadly, by the time he finally received his diagnosis, the cancer had already progressed to an advanced stage, and doctors could only focus on keeping him comfortable. After just six short days in hospital and hospice care, he passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family who loved him more than he will ever know.
Ben was just beginning to build the life he had always dreamed of- a home filled with love, laughter, and family. He and Carys were so excited for the future they were creating together. They had plans, hopes, and so much joy ahead. Dreams now heartbreakingly cut short.
In his short life, Ben touched the hearts of everyone who knew him. He was hardworking, kind, and endlessly devoted to his family. Even through his illness, his greatest concern was always for them, ensuring they were cared for and loved.
Because his illness progressed so quickly, there was no time to prepare financially for what lay ahead. Now, as Carys faces life without her soulmate and prepares to welcome their second child, we are asking for the community’s support and kindness. The coming months will be unimaginably difficult, both emotionally and financially.
Your generosity will help ease the burden, covering legal expenses, supporting day-to-day living costs, and ensuring these two little ones have the security and stability their dad would have wanted for them. Any help, no matter how small, will also give Carys the time she needs to spend with her newborn baby without the immediate worry of returning to work or struggling to keep up with bills.
No amount is too small, and every message, share, and donation means the world. Let’s come together to lift this young family in their darkest time and honour Ben’s memory with the love and compassion he always showed to others.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, your prayers, and your support.
