In lieu of flowers, support Genesis' College Fund

Donation protected
There was nothing that brought Peggy more joy than being "Nana" to her granddaughter, Genesis and anyone who knew her knows how deeply our mom loved Genesis and the incredible bond that they shared. It is because of this we ask that, in lieu of flowers, family and friends consider donating to this fund that will be given to Genesis after she graduates high school to help her start her journey into adulthood.

Being a grandmother was her greatest joy and we know that she would have wanted to be able to share in the celebration and excitement of Genesis' graduation. Flowers are beautiful but they don't last so we can think of no better way to honor our mother than to allow her an opportunity to present her granddaughter with a gift on the day of her graduation.

From the very first time she heard she was going to be a grandmother she knew she wanted to be called Nana and her voice literally lit up over the phone. Over the years our mom made it a point to make Genesis her top priority and make sure that Genesis had anything and everything she could possibly ask for (and many more things that just reminded her of Genesis).

Our mom would give anything just to see Genesis smile and laugh and she would always make a comment about how much she enjoyed just hearing it. You could always hear her cheering Genesis on from the sidelines or in the stands at swim meets and soccer matches. She would even act as "legs" for the backstroke during summer meets despite not knowing how to swim herself! She loved to listen to Genesis play the Bass Clarinet and was so excited when Genesis made Anne Arundel All County Band last year.

She was so proud of Genesis and was always looking forward to her next band performance, swim meet, or soccer match. Our mom and Genesis often spent many days just hanging out together painting nails, drawing, listening to music, and just enjoying each other's company. We know our mom would have given anything to be there to see Genesis graduate from 8th Grade at MGA where she started working because she wanted to spend more time with Genesis.

Genesis and our mom share a very special bond that is still very present after our moms passing. We know it would mean the world to her to be able to contribute and share in helping Genesis achieve her highest possible version of herself and it pains us to know that she will not be here in person, but comforts us to know that our mom is still watching over Genesis and will continue to help shape her and guide her along her way.

Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to read this, and to anyone who chooses to donate, we thank you, from the bottom of our hearts for allowing our mother the opportunity to share in this milestone in what we know will be a very impactful way for Genesis who we know will be missing her Nana a little extra on that day.
