And for those who are new to us….Welcome to our growing Yiddishland community!

Yiddishland California is a non-denominational cultural center and museum created by the non-profit organization Yiddish Arts and Academics Association of North America (YAAANA), registered in the State of California. People of all ages and backgrounds are invited to attend our programs. Yiddishland California’s mission is to expand awareness of the beauty and joy of Yiddishkeit and to preserve and advance Yiddish language and culture internationally.

This Giving Tuesday, please support us in our vision of cultivating Ashkenazi and Sephardi cultures via classes and events.

We are thrilled for Yiddishland to begin its new chapter in La Paz, Mexico. During our soft opening on December 18, we will officially cut the ribbon, hang the mezuzah, and listen to Yiddish, Hebrew, and Judeo-Spanish (Ladino) Chanukkah songs celebrating the spirit of Yiddishkayt, far from where it once lived but carrying the same legacy.

At the same time, our traveling talks and virtual programming will continue playing a vital role in our nonprofit’s mission.

• Establishing the physical space of our new center

• Supporting our teachers, artists, and cultural presenters

• Offering classes, workshops, concerts, exhibits, and holiday celebrations
