In honour of my Darling Brother Colm Doyle

Hi my name is Michelle. My darling brother Colm, 47yrs old passed away on 23/8/2021. His life was cut so short when he was diagnosed with Glioblastoma (brain cancer). He fought his illness with immense bravery. To honour him, this being his anniversary month, I am partaking in a 25hour fast along with my husband Maurice & our son Rónan to raise funds for Wicklow Cancer Care & Purple House Bray. I received counselling at Wicklow Cancer Care a few months after Colm's death. I felt so broken, lost and lonely during early grief. I remember walking into Wicklow Cancer Care and feeling as if I was walking into hug of warmth, no judgement, a safety net at the time. I am forever grateful for their support. My Mam & Dad attend Purple House in Bray, again a place of huge support, care and comfort at such a difficult time. My Mam has partaken in many courses including relaxation, horticulture and knitting. My Dad helps out with d.i.y. tasks. It's become an important haven for them both. Both charities have been a God send to our family at the worst time in our lives. Colm was so generous to others in life in so many ways so we felt it fitting to raise funds for both charities to matk his anniversary month in a loving way.
