Elle and Luke’s story: in honour of Lenny Taj Turner.

On the morning of June 13th 2021, Elle gave birth to a baby boy ‘Lenny Taj Turner’.

Lenny was born still at 21 weeks leaving his parents Elle and Luke and brother Sonny heartbroken and empty.

The fertility journey for Elle and Luke has not been an easy one…

On April 19th 2016, Elle and Luke lost their first born son ‘Taj Christopher Turner’ due to early waters breaking.

Devastated, yet determined to receive their baby alive and well in their arms, Elle and Luke navigated their way through multiple IVF attempts and surgeries. Unfortunately, none of these treatments were successful.

But by the grace of a miracle, Elle and Luke fell pregnant with their second son. With knowledge of the loss of Taj, ‘Sonny Jack Turner’ was born at only 25 weeks. Their “little fighting miracle” Sonny, spent an intensive 15 weeks in the Women’s and Children’s Hospital NICU and was finally able to come home.

Wanting to grow their family, Elle and Luke felt extremely blessed to be pregnant a third time. Like every parent awaiting a baby to be born, Elle was anxious about the reality of possibly losing their baby but remained positive and clearly focused. With the doctors advice, Elle gave up working as a teacher and was on bed rest to minimise the risk of early contractions or waters breaking again. Luke, who is a fire-fighter, also took carers days to look after Elle whilst pregnant and their son.

After 21 weeks of pregnancy, Elle started contractions early. With Obstetric intervention, doctors and midwives tried to stop the contractions, but sadly Lenny was born shortly after and medical assistance for Lenny was unsuccessful.

Anyone that knows Elle and Luke will agree that they are a loving, caring and generous couple. A couple that would never expect charity, but need us all to support them more than ever.

Although what Elle, Luke and Sonny need now more than ever is each other, unfortunately life doesn’t stop. Bills, mortgage repayments and living expenses keep rolling in.

The goal would be to raise $5,000 ASAP (go fund me fees and charges are deducted from this amount) so Elle and Luke don’t have to return to work immediately and minimise the financial burden of living expenses while grieving.

For those who have lost babies, children or loved ones, you know more than anyone how important the family bond is. Raising $5,000 for Elle, Luke and Sonny would also mean they can spend quality time together, healing together through a vacation place of their choice.

So now I please ask, from the bottom of your heart, if you can spare any change to donate to this beautiful family while they grieve through this tragedy. Any donations would be greatly appreciated. To enable funds to grow quickly for the Turner family, sharing this Go Fund Me page would also be appreciated.

Our thoughts and prayers are always with you Elle, Luke and Sonny. X

In honour of dear ‘Lenny Taj Turner’
