COVID-19 has effected too many individuals around us, but for us at Carol Stream McDonald's in Illinois, this past month was our first experience with losing an employee to this virus.
The story I'm about to share of is of an employee of ours, Araceli, a single mother with four children working night and day to get by, specially with times as they are now.
This past month, she's had to witness two funerals, no person, let alone a daughter wants to attend in the span of two weeks.
Araceli's mother Maria contracted COVID-19, was hospitalized and passed away on January 20, 2021. While Araceli grieved the loss of her mother, we received news that her father Pedro, passed away as well on February 3, 2021, just 13 days later.
Pedro was an employee of ours as well and now the loss became not just overwhelming but real for our McFamily.
In losing her parents, Araceli will no longer be able to go to them for financial support to help with expenses in raising her four children. This is where we come in and why we're starting a GoFundMe page for Araceli.
Your donation will be given to Araceli to provide for her four children, with basic necessities, to be used towards education, grocery, rent, apparel, etc.
Araceli will be the beneficiary of this fundraiser, and I, Richard O'Keefe, Owner/Operator of Carol Stream McDonald's, where Araceli is employed, will make sure all donations are given directly to her.
Pictured below are Araceli's Mother, Maria and Father, Pedro.
