FOR KHRYSTA, AN ASK FOR MARIUS

 

Dear Friends and Family of Khrysta, 

I feel like I have met a lot of you.  For those I have not met, I feel like I know you because Khrysta always wanted all of her friends to know about all of the people in her life that she loved.  I know how devastated we all are by her passing.  Reading all of the messages on social media, I couldn’t help but smile.  Anyone who knows Khrysta well knows, as so many of us wrote about, her zest for life, her radiant positivity and smile, her abounding generosity, her love of Love, and the courageous fight she waged that never relented until she drew her last breath. 

Marius wants to celebrate and honor Khrysta’s life with all the people she touched.  Marius is such an amazingly selfless person.  His daily devotion and dedication to Khrysta were living proof of his love and commitment to her.  The more she suffered, the more he steeled his resolve to help her and love her.  I witnessed the many times and ways Marius did this without complaint, without expectation, and without re-numeration.  It was purely from his heart.  Marius bravely and humbly took on the role of Khyrsta’s primary care taker, assuming all of the undignified, mundane, and thankless tasks that go along with it.

While Marius would never typically ask anything of anyone, especially regarding his love for and care of Khrysta, his caregiving came at a financial cost. Marius has paid a large sum for Khyrsta’s medical and living expenses.  He still has more to pay.  He has not worked for over a year in order to take Khyrsta to all of her treatments, appointments, and to be with her for all her post-op recoveries.  He is struggling to cover funeral costs and her remaining medical bills.  My response is to write this Go Fund Me to ask help for Marius and to honor Khrysta the way she deserves to be honored.

In the tragic but somehow heroic circumstance of Khrysta’s passing, there is no one more worthy and deserving of our help than Marius.  He stated that he will only use any money raised to celebrate Khrysta’s life and to pay off the remainder of her medical bills and funeral expenses. If there is anything leftover, he promised to donate it in Khrysta’s name to USC Norris Cancer center for Cancer research, the hospital where Khrysta received her treatments..

Khrysta was so lucky to have Marius.  If she was Wonder Woman, he certainly is Superman.  Khyrsta knew what she had in Marius; just as he knew what he had in her.

Let’s help Marius by contributing to this Go Fund Me Page so we can all properly honor Khrysta.  We all love Khrysta. Please help Maruis celebrate her by showing him that we too are a loving, grieving community of friends and family who will generously give back to this man who gave so much to our Khrysta.  I only ask that you give what you can.
