I'm closing out this Gofundme after 5 years of ongoing donations to Yahaya. This project was started as something to do during COVID when I ran a meme page on Instagram. I own a flip phone now and I don't use social media. I don't even talk to Yahaya anymore except on the rare occasion I send him the donations.

All of the $6,472 raised from both Fundraisers that was able to be sent to Yahaya was sent to him. According to Gogle Gofundme typically takes 2.9% + 30 cents from each donation. That seems right to me. Some money was used to pay the transfer fees for Moneygram, which were anywhere from $2-$5. However from 2020-2022 I paid all transfer fees out of my own pocket. So, all in all I probably sent him a grand total of around $6,000.

I think the money was, for the most part, spent on good things and I thank you all for donating. The money did a lot of good. It bought life saving medical treatment on multiple occasions for his family members, he was able to build a brick house in Dabaza and he was able to improve his farm through purchases of fertilizer and farming equipment. It allowed him the ability to work, bought him transport to and from Lagos, bought him a lawn mower to do landscaping work, bought him clothes, food and water for dozens of people.

All that being said, donations have slowed down quite a bit. Knowing all I've learned about Yahaya over 5 years; I don't even like him anymore. I cannot run this project for another 5 years. Life moves on. Thank you for your support, for a short time, it was life changing for one man and his family.
