Improvements to our facility and mission

My name is Wyatt Ranson I am the Commander of American Legion Post 26 Port Townsend Washington. I grew

up outside Port Townsend after 12yrs in the United States Marine Corps with Bravo Company 4th Tanks of Yakima WA I have come home to Port Townsend and the American Legion.

The American Legion is home for myself and fellow veterans. It fills that void left from the prior service life. We have multiple hard working veterans that give 100% for the American Legion and community and its been a complete honor to be Commander of a place I consider above my own home.

Post 26s mission is to continue forward being a vital asset to our community, be the hub for families, youth programs, community events, veteran services and especially a place Veterans have family and support.

We host multiple concerts for veterans and guests and community events, quilts of valor, weddings, celebration of life, community meetings, and festivals. We want to expand to youth programs and events. Youth have very few outlets here in Port Townsend WA and we want to set a example for current youth to become leaders for the future of Port Townsend and the nation.

Our mission at American Legion is far from over. As we barely survived the pandemic with our 82 year old building, it is in constant need of repairs and maintenance as well as other improvements to become a better asset to our community.

We want to expand technology in our hall which services the community, we have repairs both inside and outside. Such as floors, plumbing, electrical and exterior maintenance.

Personally if I had the money or the mega millions ticket I would never resort to gofundme. Im a proud USMC veteran and extremely proud of my veteran family with the American Legion and Community of Port Townsend. My personal funds are exhausted and our American Legion funds have been extremely limited.
