Welcome to my page for my 46rd State Marathon on my quest to run a marathon in every state. Starting in 2008 and hopefully finishing in April 2027... I’m excited to raise funds for Deep River Mission, Inc. I met Priscilla through the WPO and her parents have lived in Haiti for over ten years. Having been a business owner in his previous life, her dad's philosophy of philanthropy has been to provide opportunities for men and women to work and earn a living. To that end, he employees Haitians to clean streets and design and install drainage systems. He also runs an apprenticeship program where students learn auto mechanics. To help with the medical crisis down there, he built a community center next to his house which houses medical clinics several times a year. Needless to say, for almost being 80 years old, he stays busy! I love the fact that her parents are self-funded and all funds are able to be directly distributed to the needs of the community and these programs.
