I’m Walking 268 Miles to Help Children in India
Donation protected
Hi, I’m Hugo, I’m 17, and this summer I’m taking on a massive challenge — walking the entire Pennine Way from Kirk Yetholm to Edale.
That’s 268 miles on foot, averaging around 15 miles a day, carrying my kit and walking solo (but I’ll have some support at campsites along the way). It’s going to be tough, but I’m doing it for a really important reason. I'll be wearing a tracker for the entire hike so you can watch my progress each day. I've been practicing my map reading skills and done a recce of part of the path in North Yorkshire so hopefully things will go well :)
But the main reason i'm doing this is because I’ve been given the opportunity to join our sixth form school trip to southern India in February 2026, where I’ll be working with the Presentation Sisters to support children who don’t have access to the same education or healthcare that we’re lucky to have here.
While we’re there, we’ll be visiting the clinic and helping in a school for underprivaliged children and also on education and community projects for children who have far fewer material possessions and opportunities than we do.
This trip means a lot to me, and I really want to make a difference — but I need help to get there.
If you’re able to support me by donating to this GoFundMe, every bit helps me get one step closer to making this journey and supporting a cause that really matters.
Thanks so much for reading — and if you’re not able to donate, I’d still be really grateful if you could share the link.
Thank you!
– Hugo
