I'm "selling" my Prius to the internet. And 100% of the money is going to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP).

This is your chance to become an honorary Part Owner of what I hope will become the World's Most Valuable Prius! And even better: we get to support a great cause in the process. Oh and one more thing: the Prius itself is being donated to a family in need.

Suggested donation tiers:
$5+ = “Part Owner”
$25 = “The Tow Strap”
$50 = “The Steering Wheel”
$100 = “The Car Seat”
$250 = “The Bumper”
$500 = “The Rooftop Tent”
$1,000 = “The Catalytic Converter”
$7,700 = “The 2012 Toyota Prius”
$10,000 = “The Suggested Corporate Minimum”

Note: these are fun names for donation tiers. You are not buying or receiving any part of the car or the car itself. Every dollar goes directly to AFSP.

About American Foundation For Suicide Prevention (AFSP)
AFSP is an organization dedicated to saving lives and bringing hope to those affected by suicide. Together, we can create a culture that prioritizes mental health and supports those in need.

Why are you doing all of this, Max?
As a longtime Prius driver, I’ve always taken pride in showing what the car is really capable of, especially given it’s usually treated as the laughing stock of the highway. Truth be told, I treated my Prius like a truck. I’ve loaded it with lumber, put a rooftop tent on it, and driven it off-road in the desert, in the snow, and at the beach.

So my initial idea for this was simple: make a truck commercial but with my Prius. When I sat down to write it, I saw an opportunity to dig into something more meaningful. By showing the world what I knew the Prius could do, I saw it as a way to show people what I believe being a real man is all about. To me, nothing is more manly than being a kind, empathetic, and caring human being... and taking your hybrid off-road, going airborne, and pulling a stranger's truck out of a ditch.

Once I had the idea to “sell” my Prius to the internet, I wanted to find a non-profit that felt thematically relevant to the spot. The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention was the first one I reached out to and much to my delight, they were really excited about the project and have become incredible partners.

Unfortunately, I lost a family member to suicide in 2023, so this cause is near and dear to my heart. With September being National Suicide Prevention Month, my hope is that this fundraiser can bring hope, drive awareness, and help AFSP save lives. And hopefully bring a smile to many faces.

How does this work?
Step 1 - Donate to my fundraiser
Step 2 - Become an honorary Part Owner of what I hope will become The World’s Most Valuable Prius.

Why is the goal $45,000?
The most expensive Prius money can buy is just shy of $45,000 new... so my initial goal is to beat that so we can claim the title of The World's Most Valuable Prius. After that, the sky is the limit!
