I'm raising money to Walk a 500 mile Pilgrimage for Peace
Donation protected
In two weeks I’ll be setting off on a 500-mile Pilgrimage for Peace, starting on the West Coast in Cornwall and finishing on the East Coast in Norfolk, a community project organised by Jolie, Kriya Arts.
On the way I’ll be making an experimental/ documentary film and performing the old mummers play Saint George and His Many Enemies. It’s a story that shows how deep conflict runs through our history, but at the same time it opens space for laughter and reflection. My hope is to meet people along the road, share stories, and bring strangers together in conversation about peace.
I’ve applied for funding from Arts Council England, but with the walk about to begin and no reply yet, we need a bit of support. If the funding comes through, whatever’s raised here will go straight to charity. If it doesn’t, I’ll need to raise £1,000 to cover my basic bills, some extra kit and film costs (SIM cards, batteries, storage etc), and living expenses while I’m walking. Anything beyond that will also go directly to charity.
This is really an invitation to walk with me, even if only in spirit. To carry the idea of peace from place to place. To remind ourselves that art, ritual and community still matter. Every donation, big or small, helps move this journey along.
And if you’d rather get something back for your support, there’s still time to book a reading with me.
