I’m Headed to Chiapas, Mexico – and I Need Your Help
Donation protected
Hi friends and family,
I hope this message finds you well. I’m writing to share something close to my heart and invite you to be part of it with me.
This October, I’ll be traveling to Chiapas, Mexico as part of a short-term mission trip with Ministry Builders (McKinney, TX) and City Church Melissa . Our team will help the local community finish the building of their church. We’ll also spend time sharing the message of Jesus in surrounding neighborhoods, visiting a local orphanage, and simply showing up in love — whether it’s through mixing concrete, painting walls, or playing with kids who need to be reminded they matter.
For those who know me, you know this isn’t about “travel” — it’s about purpose. It’s about saying “yes” to the Great Commission and stepping out to serve people with humility, compassion, and truth. I’ve had the privilege of doing this before — in the Dominican Republic, in a Texas state jail, and coming up, in the heart of inner-city Dallas — and each time, I have seen the change in people's heart.
I believe that wherever we go, we are called to reflect hope. I want to be a part of that in Chiapas.
But I need your help to get there.
I’m raising $2,000 to cover:
- A $400 fee (meals, ground transportation, etc.)
- Airfare and travel costs (flights run $800–$1,100)
- Any extra raised will go directly to support the local church and mission work in Chiapas
If you're able to support me financially, you can give through this platform (GoFundMe) or through Venmo: @carlosjwilliams.
More than anything, I ask for your prayers — for the people we’ll serve, for our team, and for God to move through this trip in ways we can’t imagine.
Even if you don’t share the same faith, I’d love for you to be a part of this journey with me. I believe in building bridges. I believe in being present. And I believe love speaks in every language.
Thank you for reading and for considering how you might support. I’ll keep you updated as we get closer to the trip.
With gratitude,
Carlos J. Williams
