This year, I am finally taking on (after a number of injuries) the Wilmslow Sprint Triathlon (400m swim; 24km cycle; 6km run) to raise funds for an amazing charity close to my heart, called New Day United (NDU).

NewDay works in some of the most deprived parts of Cape Town, South Africa, to support, empower and equip its community through a range of projects. These include teaching ladies how to sew and sell their products through to a computer learning centre teaching valuable IT skills to help students of all ages find work and make a living and future for themselves.

My good friend Lynn Swart is the Executive Director of NDU and is incredibly passionate about serving, supporting and blessing the people and communities who they work with. It has been wonderful to see their work grow and to hear the stories of the lives they have changed over the last 10 years - you can read and hear some of these on their website (see the link below).

The money you donate will be used to fund projects such as the Sewing Enterprise, the Computer Hub and the Hluma Afterschool programme, which provides a safe place for 9-17 year olds to go who are at risk from hunger, gangs and educational challenges.
