After 8 years of growing my hair, I’ve decided it’s finally time for the chop —for a good cause! I will be raising funds and donating my long locks to a small charity in Manchester that makes a big impact on children's lives, they are a wonderful charity called Little Lady Locks that provides free, real-hair wigs to children and young people who have suffered hair loss due to cancer, alopecia or other conditions. But that’s not all! I’m also fundraising for Who Cares UK, a charity close to my heart. Who Cares UK is run by Bob, an extraordinary individual with a heart of gold. Their mission is to provide vital support, kindness, and advocacy to people who feel alone or in need—a lifeline for many, especially in challenging times. I met Bob through Man V Fat - a program that helps you lose weight by playing football - Bob is the coach there. After many conversations about life and a hundred other topics, I realised Bob's charity is the one I finally wanted to get the clippers out for, my goal was always to eventually cut off all my hair and donate it to a charity that creates wigs for children and raise money for a small charity that I know the money would make a difference for. Many of us connected to the Man V Fat program have experienced Bob’s positive energy, empathy, and encouragement first-hand. His passion and support have inspired us to improve our mental and physical wellbeing, helping me personally lose more than 15kg! Bob has not only made an indelible positive mark on the lives of everyone in the Man V Fat community but also to many others through all the amazing work he does in his many initiatives, and I wanted to show my gratitude by supporting his wonderful charity Who Cares UK.
