My name is Luca Teutonico. I’m 8 years old. I live in New York. I love soccer and playing with my dog.
This year has been a weird year. I know how lucky my family is. I know many people have lost their jobs, their homes and don’t have food to feed their family. We need to look out for each other especially now.
I am part of many communities, but there are two that could really use our help. I learned a lot during COVID mostly how important community really is. So I’m asking my friends and family and anyone who sees this page to come together to help make something as simple as access to food not be so hard right now.
There is a community fridge in Jackson Heights in Queens, New York City, that I would like to raise $300 to help get more groceries for. Community fridges are really cool I’ve watched a lot of videos about them. It’s run by the community for the community and some fridges have art on them and I just think it’s really cool that neighbors take such good care of neighbors.
Another place I call home is in Loita, Kenya. I have a lot of friends there. Kenya is really far from New York City but it’s a place close to my heart. Since there is no travel or vacations because of COVID a lot of people who work at hotels and safari lodges there lost their jobs and can’t get food. I would like to raise $700 to help the community get food. My friends in Loita live off the land and stuff but times are really tough right now.
If we raise more than $1,000 which would be super cool - the rest of the money will go to Loita.
Since we can’t hug in person right now, I’d like to send the feeling of a hug to both of these communities. If we can help feed our neighbors near and far, and they can feed their families, that feels like a big hug to me.
Everyone can make a difference. Will you join me?
I'd like to send the money on 1/1/21 and start this New Year off good for everyone.
