ILE Playground Eagle Scout Project
Hey, I’m Jack Oliphant, and I’m currently trying to raise money to help Indian Lake Elementary expand some aspects of their playground via my Eagle Scout Project. My project is split into four sub-projects which include:
- A butterfly garden to help with the 2nd grade butterfly curriculum
- A painted sensory path of the solar system on the K-2nd grade auxiliary road so the kids can learn about the dollar system while having fun
- Two painted 4-square rings on the 3-5th grade playground
- Planting two tulip poplar trees in the 3-5th grade playground to help with the lack of shade
Nearly every aspect of my project had been specifically asked for by the school, and most of my work is turning those requests into a reality. I really wanted to help Indian Lake specifically because it was the school I went to from 2nd to 5th grade, and I wanted to give back to the school for its immeasurably positive influence it had on me during those foundational years. I also want to make sure ILE keeps having such a great impact on the kids it teaches, and with this project I hope I can add to this great impact.
I plan on working during the weekend of September 18-19, and if you would like to come and help, you would be more than welcomed.
Any excess funding will be directly donated to the school.
