Help Pana Achieve His American Dream
If you've ever walked into The Check-In, you know Pana. His infectious smile and warm hugs have made him a treasure in our neighborhood.
Pana's Story
Ilber, known as "Pana" to those who love him, is from Venezuela, where he survived violent crime and political persecution that forced him to flee for his safety. Back home, he was a contestant for Mr. Venezuela in 2004 and built a successful career in culinary arts, entertainment, and managing venues and spas.
In November 2024, sponsored by fellow Venezuelan Rich Lugo, Pana arrived in the USA seeking safety and a fresh start.
A Father's Heart
Ilber is a devoted father to two children—ages 8 and 3—who remain behind. Despite the distance, he fulfills his fatherly duties every single day, being present for them emotionally and supporting them financially in every way he can. His ultimate goal is to secure his status so he can eventually reunite his family and give his children the safe, stable future they deserve.
Why We Need Your Help
Pana is working with an immigration attorney to improve his status here in the United States, but it costs $10,000. We're raising $5,000 to help cover half of these essential legal fees.
Why It Matters
Despite everything he's endured, Pana shows up every day with warmth and joy. He makes our neighborhood feel like home—he remembers your name, asks about your day, and genuinely cares. His resilience and kindness remind us what community is all about.
Every dollar counts. Whether you can contribute $5 or $500, your support will make a meaningful difference in Pana's life. If you can't donate, please share this fundraiser with your networks.
Let's show Pana that the love he gives is returned.
With Gratitude,
The Check-In Community
