IJM Summer Internship
Donation protected
Hi Friends,
I am super excited and quite honored to have the opportunity to work with International Justice Mission this summer. I have known about IJM's work for years and have been waiting for an opportunity to partner with them, so I'm really excited that I have been given this opportunity! IJM has consistently impressed me not only by what they do, but the way in which they do it. They are a Christian organization, and everything they do comes from a desire to love people the way that Christ does. Their focus is on rescuing individuals and giving them the help they need to get a fresh start on life, while also working to improve the system to protect people who are at risk. You can find out more about their work here: https://www.ijm.org/how-we-work.
I will be interning in IJM's Corporate Security Division, which oversees the safety and security of IJM's field offices around the world. I will be living and working in Washington DC, which is totally a dream come true! I'm going to be living in an apartment that’s just down the road from the Pentagon and Arlington National Cemetery. It's like Disney World for political science students! While it will be an amazing experience to live and work in Washington, it will also be very expensive and the internship is unpaid. IJM has encouraged me to raise money to cover my living expenses for the summer. They have suggested that I raise around $5,000. If you are able to, I would really value your support. Regardless, I would ask you to pray for me as this promises to be quite a challenging time for me. Pray that I am able to settle in quickly, produce excellent work, and be an encouragement to those I am working with.
All donations will go directly to covering living expenses during the time I will be interning with IJM. Gifts of any size are welcomed. If you have any questions about IJM, what I will be doing, or anything else, please feel free to contact me.
Thanks for your support,
Tobin
