IGWR Nepal Single Mothers’ Support Program

Do you want to join us in making a difference to the lives of three single mothers in Nepal? We're raising money in aid of In Giving We Receive Inc and every donation will help.

 

In Giving We Receive  (IGWR) Nepal is looking for sponsors for single mothers to support their children though education. Together let's break the cycle of poverty.

 

One year of education for a child costs $1000 AUD.

 

Pushpa and Aarav (pictured above)

Pushpa is from remote rural Nepal. Married when she was just 14 years old, she had no education.

Now she works as a construction labourer in Kathmandu, carrying up to 30 kilo loads for 12 hours a day, 6 days a week.

Pushpa earns $80 AUD a month.

 

Punam and Chahat, Chahana and Tapasya

Punam also comes from rural Nepal and moved to Kathmandu in hope for a better life after the death of her mother.

6 years ago her husband left for the Middle East to work. He never sent her any money and has blocked all contact.

Punam cleans houses and earns $110 AUD per month; her rent for a (3mx4m) room is $100 a month.

 

Ambika and Sudip

As a teen Ambika left her village in eastern Nepal to marry in Kathmandu. Her hopes for a better life did not last.

6 years ago her husband left for the Middle East to work. He never sent her any money.

Ambika cleans houses and earns $110 AUD per month.
