✍ 23 Feb 2026 - Sidhpur
My eyes opened at 4am, woke like 5 times during night because of the cold, body is wrapped up but cant shake the cold from face and head. Shared bathroom also means walking out of bedroom into freezing cold - i did not bring winter wear for this - must buy today. Sat down for prayers and as i felt cold in my bones, remembering the Nirvana Shaktam - i am not body or mind...and thinking of the monks who withstand extreme cold as form of tapas austerities...and begun to feel that this too an opportunity to transcend discomfort...

About This Project
Pilgrimage to God is a living, global spiritual research journey with four intentions:
- 1. Self-realization
- 2. To discover the universal truth underlying all religions
- 3. To create tangible offerings from this journey — through writing, books, photography, art, and raw documentary — to inspire unity and encourage the sincere search for Truth
- 4. In time, to establish a small fund to support other independent seekers walking a similar path
This journey unfolds through immersion — living within different traditions and experiencing their paths of self-realization directly, one by one.
How This Journey Began
Two years ago, after a divorce and a period of illness, something became clear — everything I had leaned on could change or fall away. I saw that depending on the external for happiness would always leave me vulnerable. I had already been on the spiritual path for some years — questioning, seeking, but still within the comforts of a conventional life.
After a period of deep meditation, I felt I was given the courage to take a full leap in search of truth — like the seekers I had read about.
I closed my Ayurvedic practice in the Canary Islands and came to India with a one-way ticket — a leap of faith, in search of God, in search of truth.
There was also a quiet conviction within me that all religions are different paths pointing to the same truth. I wanted to see this for myself, and I would begin in India.
The Journey So Far
Since then , I have been walking across India — living simply, moving from place to place, staying in ashrams & learning from different lineages & enlightened masters i have encountered, training through the Indian system of Self Realization, which I had studied for several years prior.
This journey is not part of any institution or ashram.
I walk as a lone pilgrim.
*I share regular updates here, on my blog & some on the project instagram.

Why I Need Support
Traditionally, those who renounce the world and dedicate their lives to Self Realization do so within a monastery, ashram, or spiritual order. Within such structures, financially, their basic needs are supported, allowing them to remain fully focused on their path. My journey is different. I am not part of any institution or lineage. I walk independently, guided by an inner calling rather than belonging to a specific order. While this offers freedom, it also means there is no system supporting this way of life.In today’s world, there are very few structures that sustain a lone renunciate.
---
Why I Walk This Way
I chose not to commit to a single doctrine or tradition — not out of rejection, but from a sincere longing to understand the essence that lives within all paths. By walking across places, traditions, and ways of living, I seek to experience directly what is shared at the heart of them all. Not belonging to one path, but listening for what is common to all.

What This Journey is Giving
To sustain this path without depending on my family, I am beginning to share what naturally arises from this journey:
– a book emerging from reflections on this pilgrimage
– photography
– handmade art and crafts
These are not separate projects, but expressions of the same journey.

How Support is Used
Your support goes toward simple, essential living — food, travel between places, and basic accommodation — as well as materials for creating and sharing this work.
I live minimally. The intention is not comfort, but continuity of this path.
Even a small contribution helps sustain a day of this journey.
---
Looking Ahead
In time, my intention is to extend this into a small fund to support others who are sincerely walking a similar path without institutional backing.
I also would like to set up a multi-faith ashram in the future.

Welcoming your support should you resonate with the mission
With love,
Jennica Sai
