Iganga Hospital Children's Ward Renovation

Donation protected
Hello friends and family!

This summer I am participating in the Engineering World Health Summer Institute that is partnered with Duke Engage. For the month of July, Beepul Bharti, Lynn Ahabwe, and I are stationed at the Iganga General Hospital in Uganda to assist in repairing medical equipment and to train staff on equipment use and maintenance. Above all, we have the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the healthcare system of Uganda and learn and grow from the medical professionals here.

In addition to supporting the staff and technicians here, we are also required to pursue a secondary project based on the needs identified in the hospital. After communicating with the staff and evaluating the resources available, we feel that renovating the Children’s Ward is the most effective way to address a prevalent issue here.

Our goal is to repaint the interior and exterior of the Ward, apply mosquito nets to the windows, and repair the broken ceiling tiles. We strive to make the Children’s Ward as comfortable and pleasant as possible for the patients in the three weeks we have remaining.

Additionally, we have observed that much of the equipment that is not in use is due to a part that is missing or broken. These devices could be easily repaired if we were able to purchase the spare parts necessary.
Any donation to help fund the renovations necessary and spare parts required would be greatly appreciated.

Our goal is to impact Iganga General Hospital is the most effective way possible with the limited time we have. We really appreciate your support and are extremely thankful for your contribution.
