Hi, I’m Ife, a young black femme currently navigating the challenging intersection of disability and queerness.
In moments of supported strength, I manage to participate in a part-time post graduate degree in queer feminist politics. As well as undertaking freelance content creation and facilitation roles as these opportunities make themselves available.
Unfortunately, the unpredictability of my mental health and disability crises these last few years has led to temporary pause in my ability to properly care for myself and work, leaving me without a stable income.
Engaging with the benefit system as an out of work disabled individual comes with its threats - more recently with a Tory policy concerning potential cuts to already minimal support funds and efforts.
This, on top of the need to keep separate from emotionally and spiritually abusive family ties, has created a financial gap in my life, profoundly impacting my ability to cover essential needs.
Previous mutual aid funding has been instrumental in paying off debts and medical bills for myself and my lovely cat Athea.
I am pleading for your continued support which will make a significant difference in my life by helping me to afford groceries, transportation, monthly bills, and more.
Your contributions can be a lifeline, helping me to focus on regaining capacity to manage daily life, as well as continue on my education and creative work journey without further harm to my health.
