IDRN Correspondent Program - 2025 Texas Floods

Right now, there are a number of Texas communities dealing with devastating floods. Even with all of the media attention, there often remains critical gaps in useful information. While others cover the big picture, many local stories of need, resilience, and effective response go untold.

The International Disaster Response Network, or IDRN, has a vision to change that.

We're launching a new pilot program to create a network of IDRN Correspondents: self-sufficient, media-savvy individuals who can report from a disaster zone safely and without getting in the way of official responders.

In one week, Matt and Jake Wallace will become the first of these correspondents. As Texans, we know the culture and the communities - and that’s why we need IDRN Correspondents all around the world. We're looking to pioneer this model right here at home, showing how local, vetted reporters can make a difference while we also learn whether this idea will work like we expect. In many regards, this is an experiment. An important experiment.

This is where you come in. IDRN is a decentralized, grassroots network, so IDRN Correspondents are crowdfunded, meaning your support has a direct and immediate impact. You’ll get a front-row seat to see exactly what your contribution achieves: bringing critical, on-the-ground stories to light that would otherwise be missed.

Every dollar you give supports our lean operational costs for this Texas mission. Any funds raised beyond our immediate needs will go directly to the non-profit IDRN Global and help it build the global IDRN Correspondent program, empowering more people like us to respond worldwide.
