My brother Corey was born with Cystic Fibrosis, a medical condition that is genetic and that will never allow Corey to live a normal life. He takes countless medicines and spend hours a day taking care of his health. He is admitted to the hospital for weeks at a time and it has been that way since he was born. Anyone who knows Corey will tell you what a positive, caring, giving, and optimistic person he is, even though he has to work harder than anyone i know just to stay alive. To give you some perspective of what it is like to live with Cystic Fibrosis, try breathing out of a straw while holding your nose. Now try twisting the straw and breathing out of it. That is how someone with Cystic Fibrosis breathes all day everyday. And although new technologies and medicines have been able to improve the way people with CF live, the life expectancy of a person with CF is on average about 38 years.
Although Corey was dealt a tough hand, he has always been the most selfless person I know. SInce he was a child he has done a fund raiser yearly to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis and to help the children that stay in Rainbow Babies and Children Hospital in Cleveland. He has helped raise thousands of dollars for his cause which provides game systems, games, movies, and other things for children who spend weeks in the hospital to help pass the time. I am hoping that this go fund me will help to give back to someone who has given so much.
One of the effects of his disease is that he is unable to have children naturally. Corey and his high school sweetheart and wife, Jessie, want to have children but due to his condition and the high cost in medical bills associated with performing the procedures necessary for them to have children, they have been unable to have their own children. I am hoping that this go fund me will raise enough money for them to start the process of having kids Whether its five dollarsor five hundred, these two people are two of the most hard-working, loving people i know and they would appreciate anything that anyone was able to spare for their cause. Please help them start their own family! Thank you for your time!
