Ian’s London Marathon for Time for Thomas

Donation protected
Hi, I’m Ian, I run for Billingham Running Club. London 2025 will be my 10th Marathon and third one in London. Training is going ok but my fitness isn’t what it was so this is definitely going to be my biggest challenge so far. I’ve never done a fundraiser event for charity but after hearing about Time for Thomas on the radio decided that it was a great opportunity to raise some much needed cash.

Thomas is a 14 year old Billingham lad and he and his family are facing some difficult times. Thomas was diagnosed with the life limiting, muscle wasting condition, Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). Quality of life is reduced as the condition takes hold and mobility becomes impaired to the point that all muscles eventually stop working.
Whilst Thomas is facing the daily challenges that this debilitating condition causes, his physical battles are compounded with deteriorating mental health and a drastic loss of hope that no one can help him.
Thomas has now reached the point where urgent adaptations and modifications are needed in his home to accommodate specialist equipment and this is where I am hoping to be able to raise some awareness for a Billingham family and some much needed funds. Anything you can donate would be much appreciated and I hope go some way to making Thomas’s life a little easier. Thanks
