Iam Ricioppo: Loss of Childcare by CV-19 Closings
Donation protected
Some of you know my son Iam, many of you do not. We moved back to North Carolina last year to be closer to my family. Since our move I have realized that Iam is on the spectrum with Autism. It was a long road to get him the services he needs like speech therapy. For the most part Iam is non-verbal and has some behavioral issues. His school Asheville Primary and the Headstart Program have been amazing in helping him develop speech and give him routine at no cost. I have also relied heavily on the school as I qualified for discounted after school care. Together all these programs and people have helped me rebuild our lives here in Asheville.
Unfortunately, the Covid-19 outbreak has forced all these programs to shut down. I am still allowed to work and and in desperate need of childcare. Iam has developed a wonderful relationship with is sitter Allie. Before I was able to get him into after school care, Allie picked him up from school every single day because I had to work. She has agreed to care for him while schools and daycares are closed. This is a blessing that I do not have to throw Iam into a new care situation after he has developed trusting relationships where he is currently enrolled. With Iam being on the spectrum it is really important to me to not disrupt his familiarities and routines too much through this uncertain time. But as a family with a single income I am not able to pay her.
I am asking you all, my family and friends to contribute what you can to Iam Ricioppo. I will use this money to pay Allie her fee. She will be watching Iam 5 days a week while I work until schools or summer school programs begin. Allie will begin caring for Iam at the beginning of April. Not only will you be helping Iam and myself but your generous donations will also employ Allie who has also lost significant wages due to Covid-19.
Any donation no matter the size will help ease the stress my family is going through. I am incredible grateful for all that this community has continually offered. Iam and I would like to send donators a small gift of appreciation, if you would like to include your mailing address. Thank you in advance for your love and of course your efforts in sharing this fundraiser with as many people as you can. <3
