This Christmas holiday period I will be in India working at an NGO called Tender Heart based in Faridabad. The school services the community by educating children of slums, special needs students and empowering women through training: http://tenderheartngo.org/
I'll mostly be working with the slum school - a program that is heavily underfunded.
Great things have come out of this project already but the lack of funding threatens the continuation of this project and it has so much potential to create real change in this community. Through this service we hope to inspire, empower and educate these kids.
The proceeds will be used to help purchase stationery and school equipment. The remainder will be used to fund the Hindi teaching aids that support the slum school and special needs program.
I'll be using my spare time to hopefully create a system to manage student progress, a basic curriculum and compile resources.
