Get Busy Living: Nepal Bound

Namaste! 

Sutt and I have been best friends for years. We got thrown together in a random cabin at camp eight years ago and have been (probably borderline unhealthily) emeshed into one another's lives since. We have been on many adventures and are pumped to see how Jesus is calling us to serve next. 

We believe the Spirit is guiding us to be brave in a new and exciting way, by giving our yes to service abroad. Sutt stumbled upon a beautiful organization called Volunteer Nepal.  This organization serves our beloved brothers and sisters living in devestating poverty in a multitude of ways. They have opportunities to love little darlings in local orphanges, teach children with disabilities and work to eradicate gender-based violence. Their need for helping hands and warm hearts is LARGE, and they were excited to hear a special education teacher and social worker were feeling drawn to their organization. 

Our desire for this journey is beyond the basic understanding of a missions trip. We desire to enter this experience with a deep level of cultural humility and open-mindedness. We hope to form lasting relationships and build community with people we have so much to learn from. 

So many people have generously inspired us throughout our lives by giving their YES to Jesus' call. We have been lucky enough to witness friends live into their vocation whether in marriage or in the religious life. We have been encouraged by countless amounts of people who have served abroad and even started organizations to infuse hope into many. We daily see the sacrifices of loved ones to be vessels of light and authenticity into our world. We believe this is another opportunity for us to witness and participate in living into Jesus' call to love one another.
