The global Covid-19 pandemic has created difficulties for Cuan Mhuire and many charities due to the suspension of existing essential fundraising.
Cuan Mhuire is Irelands largest provider of residential treatment for those suffering from addictions.
Cuan Mhuire Newry provides a 12-week comprehensive abstinence based residential addiction recovery and housing support service. Our service is available to all persons (male & female) who are 18+ years of age and suffering from Alcohol/Gambling addiction and who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Cuan Mhuire plays a leading and important role by tackling the joint problem of homelessness and addiction.
As with all charities Cuan Mhuire face a significant drop in income at the same time as trying to co-ordinate efforts to ensure that they remain focused on sustaining the services to existing residents.
For me Cuan Mhuire has played a huge role in changing my life for the better.
Over the past number of years my own personal struggles led me to become a resident in Cuan Mhuire Newry. The help and support I received from Sr Consilio's charity gave me the strength and hope to rebuild my life, I owe Cuan Mhuire so much for how it has changed my life for the better. I'm aiming to walk, run and cycle 500 miles over the next 6 weeks to support them as gesture of gratitude for the life changing help they gave me in the hope they can continue their truly amazing support for others who find themselves in a similar situation to my own.
I understand with the current situation and many different charities seeking help during this time, but would greatly appreciate any small donation from friends and family as this is a charity very close and important to me and my life.
