I Had Everything… But Chose Jesus — Now I’m Going to Zambia

“A year ago, I had everything the world says should be enough… but it wasn’t.”

Hi everyone, my name is Rosie, and I’m an 18-year-old college athlete.
Not long ago, I was in a place where everything looked right on the outside—I had the opportunity to play the sport I love, strong playing time, and a full academic scholarship. But deep down, I felt God stirring something in my heart that I couldn’t ignore. I knew I wanted more of Him.
So I made one of the hardest decisions of my life: I stepped away from what was comfortable and secure, entered the transfer portal, and trusted God even when I didn’t know where He would lead me. And He was faithful.
He led me to Southeastern University, where my faith has grown in ways I never imagined. I’ve found an athletic and academic community that has strengthened my walk with Jesus and deepened my passion to share Him with others. I’ve had the opportunity to share my faith with friends, teammates, classmates, and even family—and I’ve watched people I love come to know Christ. There is nothing more meaningful than that. And now… He’s calling me even further.

Zambia — Where I Feel Called
Thanks, Southeastern University: this summer, I have the opportunity to go on a mission trip with Trail Missions, an organization that goes into remote villages to bring the hope of Jesus and meet real physical needs.
In these villages:
  • Many people have never heard the name of Jesus
  • Families often don’t have access to safe drinking water
  • Children sometimes drink from unsafe sources just to survive
Trail Missions is working to change that by:
  • Sharing the Gospel
  • Planting churches
  • Training local pastors
  • Drilling wells that bring clean water to entire communities

Why This Matters to Me
I can’t stop thinking about the fact that there are people in the world who have never heard about the hope I’ve experienced. I don’t just want to share this hope—I NEED to. I’ve been given so much… and I believe that means I’m called to give more.
“From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded…” — Luke 12:48

And even more, there are children in Zambia who don’t know what clean water tastes like. I read that when some of them taste clean water for the first time, they say it tastes sweet. That stayed with me because it’s something I’ve never had to think twice about. I’ll be honest—there are moments I’m walking around with a Starbucks drink or a cold bottled water in my hand without even thinking about it… and then it hits me—there are kids who don’t even know what clean water tastes like. I just can’t ignore that.

What I’ll Be Doing
  • Sharing the Gospel in villages
  • Praying with families and building relationships
  • Supporting efforts to bring clean water through well projects
  • Serving alongside local pastors and communities
How You Can Help
I’m so grateful that much of my trip has already been covered thanks to the generosity of my university and Trail Missions. I’m now raising funds to help with:
  • Remaining minor travel expenses
  • Supporting supplies like well projects, resources, and teaching materials
Anything beyond my personal costs will go directly toward helping these communities.

From My Heart
I don’t feel “qualified.” I just feel called. I believe God uses ordinary people who are willing to say yes. So here I am, a little scared… but saying yes.
If you feel led to support me—through prayer, giving, or even just sharing this—I would be so incredibly grateful.
Note: GoFundMe may suggest an optional tip during checkout—you can adjust or remove this if you prefer.

With love,
