I need help with bills getting back to Tennessee

Hello dear friends. 

My journey has had many unexpected twists and turns, and through the last couple years I have been in California separated from my son in Tennessee. Many of you might know the details of my stay in California, but I want to share more openly with anyone reading this message. 

I struggled with alcoholism which destroyed my relationship with Adam’s mom. I felt a deep pain for my behavior in front of Adam and decided to enter recovery and treatment in 2019. Since then I completed my treatment program and have been completely sober for the past 4 years. 

Adam and I talk weekly, sometimes more, if his schedule allows. My role as his father has never stopped being the most rewarding experience to me. Since landing on my feet in recovery, I have been preparing to rejoin Adam in Tennessee but I’ve had a tragic news created a new obstacle that I never expected. 

In May of this year,2023 I was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. 

While this news has been challenging, my faith in God has never been stronger. Despite this, I am reaching out to my loved ones for financial support for 1 main goal: to move back to Tennessee and spend as much time as possible with Adam. 

Right now, I am undergoing chemotherapy treatment but have not been able to get reinsured medically to be able to leave the state. Any help provided by my friends will go directly to a savings fund for travel to Tennessee and my medical treatment to extend my life as a father, son, and recovered addict. 

I have a lot left to teach my son and only God knows how much more time I have. I am so appreciative to anyone reading this message and if we haven’t spoken recently please reach out. There’s no time like the present!
