A DAUGHTERS PLEA TO SAVE HER MOMS LIFE-EVERY BREATH COUNTS

Hello everyone,

My name is Hrithisha Gorre, a healthcare professional working as a physiotherapy instructor in the UK and every day I devote myself to helping people heal, regain strength, and rebuild their lives yet today, I find myself helpless as I fight to save the life of the person who has been my greatest support of strength: my mother, Padma Sri.She has been diagnosed with Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) a cruel and progressive condition that slowly steals the ability to breathe. Over the past few months, I have watched her health deteriorate even with regular consultations with pulmonologists in different hospitals at Hyderabad, where at a pace none of us were prepared for, until she could no longer breathe without support. She was placed on ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) a life-support machine that has kept her alive for 53 long days, each day filled with fear, hope, and uncertainty. ECMO costed nearly 2 lakhs per day and by 17 November, we had already spent around 1.6 crores just to keep her stable before transplant. Despite the enormous financial and emotional strain, we held onto hope, and finally doctors received call that a donor lung was available. My mother underwent the lung transplant, and though she survived the surgery with incredible strength, she soon developed a severe and unexpected complication - active bleeding in the liver. The doctors had no choice but to perform an urgent laparotomy to remove blood clots and prevent life-threatening damage. Listening to these updates shattered us, because she has always been the woman who faced every difficulty in life with a smile, a woman who gave endlessly and asked for nothing in return. Even now, she is fighting with the same quiet courage that defined her entire life. The transplant package itself was 35 lakhs excluding the 1.6 crores that we paid earlier before transplant, from which we have already paid 30 lakhs, but doctors have informed us that an additional 15 lakhs or more may be required in the coming two weeks due to the complexity of her recovery continued ECMO support, tracheostomy care, multiple drains, dialysis and intensive monitoring. We continue to spend nearly 2 lakhs every day doing everything in our power to keep her alive. I created this fundraiser not only because we are struggling to carry this overwhelming financial burden, but also to remind others to cherish and care for their parents health before it is too late. Any support no matter how small will help us cover even a single medical expense of her treatment, and it would mean more to us than words can ever express. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading our story and for standing with us during the most painful and uncertain time of our lives.

With love and gratitude,
Hrithisha Gorre❤️‍
