Evacuating my children from Gaza
Donation protected
Dear Friends
I am Salah Abu Odeh, a 33 years old father of 3 children living in extreme conditions in a tent in Rafah. We are unsafe, facing famine and the danger of disease. We need your help to survive.
My wife and I used to live together with our children Alaa (6), Rital (4), and Arkan (2) in Beit Hanoun. I specialise in media and electronic games and had a monthly income of 400 USD. My dreams were and remain! rooted in Gaza, despite the financial and social challenges or restrictions from the neighbouring countries.
After October 7, life has changed and we are in PERMANENT DANGER. We do not know, it is a ‘surprise’ what tomorrow brings. We are hungry and exhausted as the planes’ bombing continuously disrupts our sleep. If is not death, it is torture. We don’t have water and hygienic products.
We need access to medicine and, as soon as possible I will be needing a serious hip operation. My mother, my sister, and their children are living with us. My mother is sick, lacks her treatment and needs an open-heart surgery.
It is difficult to understand displacement. At the outbreak of the current war, I took my wife and children to Jabalia where the bombing was less severe (border area, UNRWA schools). We stayed there for 36 days and lived in a reality in which we would look for water out in the street. I was hugging my children and my wife while waiting for the time of our death. We were afraid to move from one location to another as we were saying dead women and children.
I escaped death more than once while looking for literally anything! for my children to eat. I would find small loaves of bread and food crumbs on the balconies of houses that I would bring to my children and moisture them with water drops.
The bombing followed us. I told my wife that we must go to the south, even if we are killed on the way. I kissed my children and my wife’s head, and went on foot to the south of Gaza. I was covering my children’s eyes so that they would not see the body parts scattered everywhere; Dozens of bodies were left in the streets and on top of the houses, bodies of children and women. Despite the violent bombing everywhere, we miraculously arrived in the south after 30 kilometres.
After months of war, I do not have any money left. The price of 25 kg. flour = 100 dollars, if! you get a bag. I have lost my home, my job. I am no longer able to do anything in this situation but asking you to stand by me and for my good cause.
I have two families in my care and I ask you, brothers and sisters for a DONATION. Help now, as we do not know what tomorrow brings.
Financial help is not the only help you can provide: SHARE my campaign and my profile with your family and friends. LIKE, COMMENT, REPOST my stories and posts.
Thanks,
Salah
