Are You proud to be an American? `Have you ever gotten goosebumps or had a little shiver at the sight of our nation's flag? It represents so much and it’s personal for each of us. There’s a quote that says, “What you do has a greater impact than what you say…..”

For decades one man has been committed to flying the flag 60 feet into the sky for all the world to see. Many people don’t know his name but you can bet they know this flag. They see it every time they pass by. The caretaker of this

flag isn’t a wealthy man. He flew the colors from an old electric pole that was going to be discarded. On the top is a pipe that the flag hangs on. This 92-year-old man has kept the love of our country alive but the old pole is needing to be replaced.

To honor this man's faithfulness, let’s help replace this pole and keep the flag flying.

The gentleman this refers to is Harry Whitney II north of Manhattan, KS near Highway 24.

y E Whitney III. We are all familiar with III. The third Harry has richly impacted so many of our lives. Loving his people is more meaningful to him than any gift we could get for him. Would you join me in making this flag pole come to fruition for his dad.

Those of you who know Harry 3, know that he has spent countless hours helping his dad fix the flag. Every time, it wreaks havoc on his neck. The flag has not been flying for a couple of months now. It is requiring more repair than the two Harry’s with a tractor can give. There are 4 companies working on bids for this project. It is very expensive because of the high Kansas winds we get. The pole must be built strong. It appears that this project will cost around $15,000 not including lighting.
