Noah’s Journey
Noah is my nephew, who is the sweetest boy you’ll ever meet. He greets you with a big cheesy smile, and his face lights up which just makes you smile inside and out. He’s a boy who loves to socialize, play, learn and grow.
It all started when his parents noticed after six months that he was unable to sit up on his own, and more apparent when he wasn’t able to walk nearing in at the age of two. With assessments, it’s been identified that he has cerebral palsy. Developmentally, this means he hasn’t quite caught up to his peers (but is he ever trying!). Noah has made great strides, and continues to, but with the need to buy new splints every few months, and now the need for a specialized stroller, the costs only gets higher.
Due to his needs, he is unable to go to daycare without an aid - the funding to have an aid available is limited, therefore daycares are unable to accept him into their facility, which results in one parent always remaining home.
On top of this diagnosis, his parents are also wanting to get an assessment for Autism. Waiting within the public health system is far too long of a wait for early intervention, therefore going the private route, which is costly for a family of one income.
Noah has come such a long way, and we couldn’t be more proud of him. I am hoping with your help, I can help my family that is in need. Any amount is greatly appreciated, and it would mean the world to them, and to me, to see him grow and succeed with all the help, resources and tools he is able to acquire. Thank you for reading about Noah’s Journey.
With love,
Leanne
