Hydrocut MTB skills park in Zach's memory
Donation protected
We want to build a mountain bike skills park at the Hydrocut in memory of our friend, Zach Jacobi.
A mountain bike skills park will be a great addition to the amazing trail network built and maintained by the Hydrocut Trails Committee. A skills park helps bikers to safely sharpen their skills on various obstacles in addition to attracting new cyclists into the sport and the Hydrocut Trails network.
Our goal is to raise $10000 (CAD) this spring in order to start construction this summer. Donations for materials and labour will also be accepted.
A self-described “software grumbler”, Zach Jacobi was brilliant, kind and enjoyed making the world a better place for everyone. He seemed to know something about everything and made us think about the stuff (especially politics) that we hadn’t considered before. He always seemed to be able to budget his time to make the most of life, and budget his money to make it count: he was a habitual philanthropist.
Zach brought us together for weekly group lunches, after-work D&D sessions, evening bike trips to the Hydrocut Trails and more.
Zach passed away August 7, 2019. The impact that Zach had on our lives is immeasurable and his friends want to give something to our community to remember and honour him - something that Zach would 110% support.
To learn more about Zach, please see video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5OxIELNrfcc
The project (delayed by Covid-19) is now planned to begin Summer 2021.
Please join us and help give back to the community that Zach loved to support and build on his passion for riding trails everywhere.
If you’d like to donate your time and/or materials to help with construction of the park, please reach out to us using the Contact button below.
