Hi

My name is Deborah i have lived in the seaside village of Millisle for almost 40 years.

Millisle was always a beautiful thriving wee village.

This past few years it just become the forgotten village.

Our beautiful beach over run by weeds and rats . Also our main Street is like a ghost town .

Just run down DERELICT BUILDINGS.

My husband Gary Mann doesn't do social media in any shape or form .

He has been litter picking on Millisle beach almost ever day over the past few years.

He asked me to put a post on Facebook asking people from Millisle to join him in a beach clean .

The response was fantastic, family, friends and Millisle residents came to the beach and cleared all the weeds with brilliant results. The same group of people and more cleared the weeds and the rubbish from the Main Street the following week.

We as a community just want to make our wee village great again.

Next week Andrew White has encouraged some professional painters and decoraters to paint the derelict building. Other locals have offered their services too

The community spirit has been amazing
