My wonderful friend

Hi, my name is Jade, and many of you will know me through various aspects of our local community.

I have something really important to ask of the local community.

Amongst us, is a local mum. My wonderful friend, whom for the purpose of protecting her identity, I wont name on here, but I would love to tell you her story.

She is a wonderful mum who is single handedly (and through choice), raising 6 beautiful children. She is the kind of mum that builds dens in her back garden, keeps chickens, teaches her children how to grow things at the allotment and her focus has ALWAYS been on enriching the lives of her children to the best of her ability. She will also do anything for anybody, even though she has a lot on her plate, she’s always the parent wanting to have other children for a play date, or collecting them from a club etc. She really is the best person who puts everybody’s needs before her own.

many years ago, when her youngest child was only a baby, she found out that she had a rare form of bowel cancer. She has spent years and years fighting it, with the pure determination of seeing her children grow up. She’s had surgeries, chemotherapy, even trial drugs that have made her SO poorly, just to extend her time in order to be around to see her children grow up. Heck, if I could bottle up her determination to sell, I’d be a millionaire.

her last surgery was the back end of last year. It made her so poorly and the recovery was long and grueling, but the surgery hasn’t been as successful as she had hoped, and unfortunately, she has recently been told that the tumour has continued to grow, and that unfortunately, there is nothing else that can be done, and therefore, she is determined to make this summer the best summer she can with her children.

Heres where our local community can help. My wonderful friend would like to fill the summer with trips/ holidays as much as she can before she is too poorly to do so. She is unable to travel abroad, but her focus is on making memories with her babies. There are so many things she would love to do if money was no object, but obviously it always is. She is also not one to ask for help, but I know this WILL help.

if you can possibly spare just a few pounds to this amazing family, I know it would go a long way to ensuring she was able to make precious memories with her children before she becomes too unwell to do so.

I know we can all pull together to show support and create that “village” that every family needs.
