After coming across this video on YouTube, my mother was eager to get into contact with the mother and understand her situation. After a week, my father's friend was able to get us on the phone with the mother and learn more about her story. This mother and family of nine have been living in what was previously government property. After the civil war, many people have taken shelter in this compound including those with disabilities. The government is currently looking to reclaim the compound and evacuate those who are living there.
Through our conversation with the mother, we learned that she has been given a warning due to Mustafa and Fartun's unintentional behavior caused by their microcephaly/disability. Living in peace and comfort is a basic human right, and this family deserves it too. With your help, we can build them a new home where they can live without fear of being kicked out and where the children can thrive in a safe and nurturing environment.
