Help us raise enough money to buy an all-terrain wheelchair – So Every Young Person Can Share the Adventure.
Our Scout group believes adventure should be for everyone—no exceptions. Two of our members currently rely on a wheelchair for some or all of the activities they take part in with us. From camping trips and activities to hikes, our young people embrace every opportunity with enthusiasm. But to make sure every member can fully join in, we need your help.
We are fundraising to purchase an all-terrain wheelchair that will allow all our Scouts to explore the outdoors together, safely and confidently. This equipment will ensure everyone can embrace what we do fully.
As our members grow older, this wheelchair will also ensure they can fully access the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award programme, opening the door to expeditions and experiences that might otherwise be out of reach. With the right equipment, they can take part in every stage of the journey just like their peers.
Our group already has two minibuses fitted with disability ramps, and we visit outdoor centres each year that provide similar inclusive equipment. We’ve seen first-hand the difference this kind of support makes. Now, we want to replicate that same level of freedom and accessibility everywhere we go.
As part of the local scouts community, we also know there are other local groups who could benefit. Once purchased, the wheelchair will be available for other group to borrow, helping even more young people access the outdoors.
Your donation—no matter the size—will help us break down barriers, open up new experiences, and ensure that every Scout can be part of the adventure.
Thank you for supporting us and helping make Scouting truly inclusive for all.
