Hurtado Family Immigration/Moving Expenses
Donation protected
This fundraiser is for Chelsea and Cristobal, and their son Sebastian. Chelsea and Cristobal have been together for around 12 years and married for almost 6 years. Their young son has rarely spent a night apart from either parent.
For those of you who have not heard, Cristobal was taken into ICE custody as Chelsea dropped him off for work one morning last week. Initial meetings with an immigration lawyer suggest Cristobal will likely be deported. While Cristobal may have entered the US illegally to seek a better life, he has no criminal record, works hard, pays taxes, and is a supportive father and husband.
Now Chelsea is faced with a battle to keep her family together, one that will either require legal fees to try keep Cristobal in the US or require moving expenses, passports, visas etc to help Chelsea and her son Sebastain move to Mexico.
Chelsea is already in the process of selling what she can, including her trailer home to help make this happen, but this transition will not be easy or inexpensive. Chelsea would need to learn Spanish to help her find a job in Mexico, and it is unclear if her dental assisting license will transfer easily.
Chelsea and Cristobal are some of the hardest working and most caring people you will ever meet. Even in the midst of all this hardship, Chelsea has remained positive, grateful for a healthy family, and determined to keep her family together. Chelsea and Cristobal are some of the first to offer help and the last to ask for it. Please consider giving what you can to help support a very deserving family in need.
