As you know hurricane Florence has been a catastrophic weather event for many people all across North and South Carolina. We cannot begin to understand how this huge disaster is going to be addressed. However, we do feel that we can make a difference in our small local community. With this in mind, we have created a fund called The Hurricane Relief Fund of Willard, NC. We will be 100% accountable to be certain these funds are used only for the victims of the hurricane. These funds will initially be used to assist those who have incurred damage for which they need immediate financial assistance. Recipients must have reasonable proof of loss and evidence that they are financially unable to address this need in the next few weeks. Recipients are restricted to no more than $500 per week and must reapply every week.
We would also like to use these funds to provide a community hot meal everyday at Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Willard, NC. This meal will be provided for anyone and everyone who can attend. We will also attempt to deliver meals to those who do not have access to the church and will make every effort to seek out utility workers and other service men and women who are providing relief during this difficult time. Donations are not tax deductible and are not susceptible to gift tax unless the donation is greater than $15,000. We will maintain clear accounting records of donors and recipients and will gladly make them available to anyone at anytime.
The funds from this page will be transferred to a nonprofit company, Signs of Christmas, inc. From here the funds will be distributed as mentioned above.
The people of this community greatly appreciate your prayers and generosity. God Bless
