My name is Andre McCormack , and I’m from St. Catherine, Jamaica, living in Toronto, Canada.I started this fundraiser to help families in parishes and communities of St. Elizabeth and Manchester who have been severely affected by Hurricane Melissa.
I have a close personal connection to the people in this community — my family still lives there, and I’m a volunteer with a local church and community group. Many of them have lost homes, crops, and livelihoods due to the flooding and high winds.
How the Funds Will Be Used
Every dollar raised will go directly toward relief and recovery efforts in the affected communities. Funds will be used as follows:
• Emergency supplies: food, bottled water, hygiene kits, and clothing
• Home repairs: providing roofing materials, lumber, and tools for families whose homes were damaged
• Community support: helping schools and local shelters get back on their feet
• Local delivery costs: a small portion for transportation and coordination to ensure aid reaches remote areas
All funds will be managed by me, Andre McCormack, and distributed in collaboration with local partners, churches, and the St. Elizabeth Community Development Office or Jamaica Red Cross volunteers. We will post regular updates, photos, and expense breakdowns so donors can see exactly where their contributions are going.
Why This Matters
Hurricane Melissa has left countless families struggling to rebuild their lives. Many are still without power or access to clean water. Your donation — no matter the amount — will make a real difference to someone in need.
If you can’t donate, please help by sharing this campaign with your friends, family, or networks abroad. Together, we can bring hope and relief to our brothers and sisters in Jamaica.
Thank you for your love and support.
