A Plea from the Heart for St Elizabeth, Jamaica
Hello, my name is Roena Robinson-Daley, and while I currently reside in the UK, my heart remains deeply rooted in St Elizabeth, Jamaica-the island's beloved "bread basket" parish.
Today, that same parish is hurting.
Hurricane Melissa has left a trail of devastation across St Elizabeth, tearing through homes, livelihoods, and the very spirit of the community. My brother, Shawayne, who lives in Jamaica, and I, cannot stand by while our neighbours suffer. Together, we are launching this urgent fundraiser to bring relief to those whose lives have been brutally upended.
Imagine losing everything; your roof, your belongings, your sense of security-in a single, terrifying night. This is the reality for so many families right now.
With your kind and generous support, we will personally work to deliver aid and comfort to those in need. Our efforts will begin in Maggotty Pass and Maggotty, two of the hardest-hit areas, and we hope to extend help to surrounding communities depending on the amount received.
This is more than a fundraiser-it's a lifeline. Every single donation will go directly towards helping families rebuild, restoring hope, and bringing back a sense of normalcy.
Jamaica needs us. Let's stand together and do what we can to help those who cannot help themselves.
And remember the powerful Jamaican proverb: "Every mickle mek a muckle" - every little bit truly helps to create a massive wave of support.
Thank you for opening your hearts
