Hello, my name is Ronelle Parkinson.

I’ve created this fundraiser to support my beloved hometown of Darliston, Westmoreland, Jamaica, a place that has been severely devastated by Hurricane Melissa. The destruction is heartbreaking. Homes have been flattened and families left homeless. We are now struggling to survive.

This cause is deeply personal. It's my home, where I stay in live in Jamaica when I visit. Seeing it torn apart has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever faced.

The damages are extensive. Roofs have been ripped off, water tanks hurled away, interiors shattered, and entire crops completely destroyed. And now, as the rainy season intensifies, the situation worsens. Without shelter, we are exposed to the elements, sleeping in soaked spaces hoping for relief. Each downpour deepens the pain.

My family and friends have lost so much, some, everything. But this isn’t just about me. It’s about the elderly woman who lived alone and now has no roof. It’s about the young mother trying to keep her children dry and fed. It’s about the farmers whose fields have turned to mud and the students whose books are floating in floodwater.

This fundraiser will go directly toward:

• Emergency repairs, and rebuilding the home

• Providing clean water and essential supplies

• Supporting families who have lost everything
